About The Position

We need a Sr. MySQL DBA with good hands-on experience in AWS RDS and who can work on monitoring performance and optimization. Should have good communication skills, both verbal & written.

Technical and Professional Requirements:

  • Should have expertise in core MySQL and have experience in monitoring and identifying system locks and performance tunings.
  • Monitoring and alerting
  • Performance tuning
  • High availability
  • Backup and recovery
  • Disaster recovery planning

Preferred Skills:

  • Should have good knowledge of Amazon Relational Database Service (Amazon RDS)
  • Experience working with AWS

Job Responsibilities:

  • Setting up monitoring tools and alerts to proactively identify and address issues related to database performance and availability.
  • Identifying system locks and taking proactive action, figuring out the root cause.
  • Monitoring and optimizing database performance by configuring parameters, indexing, partitioning, and archiving.
  • Configuring and monitoring high availability features of AWS Aurora, such as automatic failover, to ensure the database remains available and reliable.
  • Implementing automated backups and establishing disaster recovery plans to ensure data can be restored in case of failures.
  • Developing and testing disaster recovery plans to recover data and operations in the event of a catastrophic failure.
