CybageAsha donates an advanced 2D Echocardiogram Machine to facilitate world-class cardiac care at the largest state-run hospital in Pune

Cybage Software’s philanthropic arm, CybageAsha, collaborated with Sassoon General Hospital to open a Cybage 2D Echo Centre. The Centre is equipped with a 2D Echo machine that uses latest technologies to help take clearer images of an individual’s heart, aiding proper treatment of heart ailments.

The dignitaries present for the inauguration of the Centre were, Jaikrishnan K., SVP - Operations, Cybage; Dr. Dilip Mhaisekar, Chancellor-Maharashtra Arogya Vigyan Vidyapeeth; Dr. Sudhir Nanandkar, Dean - B.J. Medical College and Sassoon General Hospital.

CybageAsha upon learning that the cardiac department at Sassoon Hospital was facing difficulties in performing echocardiography tests due to the use of an outdated 2D Echo machine, decided to provide financial aid for an advanced 2D Echo machine costing INR 47 lakhs. The hospital, which is one of the largest hospitals in the district with a rich legacy that dates back to 1867, was not able to offer correct diagnosis to hundreds of patients in the cardiac department as the existing 2D Echo machine had become obsolete. CybageAsha was informed of the crisis by a few student beneficiaries of Cybage’s parallel academic philanthropy wing CybageKhushboo. These students are pursuing their medical education at the B.J. Medical College, an affiliate of the hospital.

Dr. Sudhir Nanandkar, Dean - B.J. Medical College & Sassoon General Hospital commenting on the occasion said, “We are grateful to CybageAsha for this benevolent contribution towards our Cardiac department as this will enhance our diagnosis and help facilitate better treatment for the patients. We urge charitable organizations and individual donors to support the hospital for improving our existing medical facilities and infrastructure as this will help us provide quality service to patients who are majorly from the deprived sections of the society.”

Speaking on the contribution to the cardiac department, Ritu Nathani, Director–Cybage and Head–Cybage CSR said, “Sassoon General Hospital being a well-known medical establishment caters to a large number of patients from a number of districts around Pune. The new 2D Echocardiogram machine is a heartfelt donation to support the highly skilled doctors in the hospital achieve a proper diagnosis of the patient’s heart. This contribution towards medical and healthcare infrastructure is a way to serve the unprivileged sections of the society.”

CybageAsha’s long association with Sassoon General Hospital and B.J. Medical College has also seen the Trust assist the Department of Dentistry with well-equipped dental chairs to facilitate better treatment and oral health outcomes.

As part of its Social Welfare initiatives, CybageAsha regularly facilitates eye-check-ups, cataract surgeries, dental check-ups and various other healthcare initiatives. The foundation conducts voluntary blood donation drives and awareness programs for the economically challenged sections of the society.
