We Assisted a Leading Energy Software Company with Multicloud to Centralized Platform Migration to Standardize Governance and Achieve Substantial Cost Savings

Software & Hi-Tech
Posted On: 26 August, 2025

About the Client

The client is a next-generation intelligent energy platform that provides SaaS solutions that enable energy suppliers modernize their operations.

Headquartered in the UK; the client has its presence across Europe, the U.S, Japan and Australia.

They serve millions of energy customers while driving decarbonization at scale.

Business Needs | Fragmented Setup Driving Governance Gaps and Costs

The client was building and managing its infrastructure using its own cloud accounts across AWS and GCP to run containerized workloads.

Even though this approach allowed the client to function with autonomy, it had its own set of challenges, including a fragmented setup resulting in inconsistent governance practices and high operational costs.

The client sought a long-term solution to address these challenges with cloud infrastructure migration by migrating its 60+ services and databases to a centrally managed platform.

This also included migrating its existing data stores such as DynamoDB, RDS, PostgreSQL and others and  consolidating all its resources under a single governance and management model.

Such a large-scale multicloud to centralized platform migration required a hybrid approach: A “lift and shift” approach for services that could be migrated easily and a strategically executed tailored approach for other services that required in-depth analysis.

The client expected an accelerated execution for this migration ensuring efficiency, compliance, cost effectiveness and operational resilience.

Solutions | Consolidate Infrastructure to a Unified Platform

We began with migration assessment and planning  by conducting in-depth analysis of the application resource requirements, interdependencies and potential risks using our DART framework.

We developed a strategic migration plan around the findings using the proposed hybrid migration approach.

Next, we engaged in infrastructure consolidation to migrate the services and databases from a fragmented multicloud environment to a centrally managed infrastructure platform built on AWS EKS.

Further, we ensured smooth and reliable execution by utilizing Infrastructure as Code (IaC).

This approach allowed the teams to provision, modify and validate services efficiently minimizing manual intervention and ensuring zero downtime during the transition.

In parallel, we leveraged our PIE methodology to track progress using agile maturity metrics ensuring visibility, accountability and on-time delivery throughout the migration.

Business Impact

With our advanced solutions, we successfully migrated close to 60 services and databases with scientific and phased execution approaches.

We ensured seamless deployment and operational consistency for the client by automating resource provisioning across all environments.

Our solutions contributed significantly to infrastructure cost savings for the client by standardizing governance and streamlining operations.
