Founded in 1995, the client is a US-based online D2C provider of aftermarket automotive parts.
They have a significant online presence and process over 4 million orders annually consisting of quality replacement parts, performance components, and other automotive maintenance essentials.
The client engaged with us to phase out its legacy WMS and upgrade to a more advanced, scalable, and efficient one.
The client’s primary expectation was to improve its operational efficiency by utilizing automation and real-time data with a cloud-based modern WMS.
Further, the client expected us to integrate the WMS with a real-time dashboard that would provide a transparent view of data across inventory, sales, and finance systems.
To future-proof their WMS operations, the client relied on our automation expertise to streamline key processes such as order picking and putaway, inventory replenishment, restocking triggers, label printing, and invoice generation.
We began the engagement by implementing an Infios-based solution that provided end-to-end inventory tracking and traceability—from supplier to the store shelf.
We supported the above solution with functionality enabling the warehouses to receive international and domestic shipment receipts, including purchase orders and customer returns.
- Enhanced the Pick, Pack, and Ship process:
We established a daily automated process to organize orders into waves by item type, service level, order type, and quantity. This optimized the picking flow, allowed real-time tracking of picker performance, and enabled efficient packing based on the item type.
We optimized the shipping process by streamlining the generation of tracking numbers via API while packing and adding them to the packing slip.
By integrating CS2 with Infios, we enabled intelligent decision-making regarding shipping items, best shipping methods, packaging and carrier shipping costs.
Further, we improved efficiency by developing custom reports, including picker performance, daily, weekly, and monthly order status detailed reports (open vs. shipped vs. staged), and inventory tracking.
To simplify returns, we implemented a structured return management process in Infios WMS that assisted warehouses in efficiently handling return requests of goods.
Additionally, to accurately capture the dimensions and weight of items and packages, we integrated Infios with Cubiscan. This led to updating and maintaining accurate inventory records in the system and further optimized the packaging and shipping process.
To maximize the picking and shipping efficiency of orders, we integrated Infios with the 6Rs framework.
We further aligned the technology ecosystem to the client’s long-term goal of achieving scalability and next-gen capabilities by upgrading ERP from Microsoft GP to D365.
Through the automation of critical warehouse processes, we significantly reduced the associated costs and efforts required for manual processes and promoted scalability.
We established new channels, SKUs, and workflows that enabled the reuse of process templates across clients with minimal configuration, accelerating time-to-revenue for each new channel using Infios WMS.
